Economic Dispatch Analysis Using
Metaheuristics
On the Bali Electricity System
A reliable electrical system with maintained
economic value demands that the operation of the electric power system must be
optimal, i.e. the generator must be able to meet the load requirements with the
minimum cost (Economic Dispatch).
Economic Dispatch is the optimal combination of power generated by all
generators in an effort to meet the load with a minimum cost without ignoring
existing restrictions. To determine the
optimal combination there are many methods can be used, one of the methods that
will be used to solve optimization problems (Economic Dispatch) is
Metaheuristic method. Metaheuristic method will be used to resolve Economic
Dispatch problems in Bali System.
In this
study, determining the optimal combination of each operating plant (Economic
Dispatch) will use the Metaheuristic method.
Before calculating using the Metaheuristic method, first calculate the
input-output characteristics of each generating unit, the combined
characteristics of the generator bus (composite generation fuel cost), the
characteristics of the interconnection contract coefficient losses (matrix B).
Then, the results of the calculation will be used to calculate the allocation
of loading with the Metaheuristic method.
The results of calculations with the Metaheuristic method will be compared with methods that are commonly used. Simulation results show that the 150 KV electrical system in the Imperialist Competitive Algorithm (ICA) method is able to produce a more optimal generation cost of $ 911.66 / h and active power of 679,869.75 MW when compared to the lambda iteration method of $ 686,986.2 / h with an active power of 915 MW there is a savings of $ 3.34 / h.
